In the city of bridges, connection is part of our shared identity. Our many bridges connect neighborhoods and industries, but most importantly, they bring people together. For more than a century, Vincentian has carried that same purpose forward by connecting people in ways that strengthen lives and sustain community. In other words, at Vincentian, we build bridges.
These connections are intentionally designed and carefully sustained. Like any bridge, this work depends on a strong and steady support system.
You are that support system. And your support is needed now.
Since 1924, when the Sisters first welcomed 24 sick or elderly women who had nowhere else to turn, Vincentian has served as a place of connection. A bridge between need and care, between vulnerability and dignity, and between generations that, in most other places, would remain separate.
That work has grown thoughtfully over time.
Well before the pandemic brought national attention to the consequences of social isolation, and before loneliness was identified as a national epidemic, Vincentian had already begun advancing a different approach.
With the opening of Vincentian Terrace Place in April 2019, a new, intentionally designed intergenerational community was established. Vincentian welcomed college students and older adult residents to live together, sparking relationships that crossed divides and, over time, formed deep roots. Within a year, intergenerational living expanded to Vincentian Schenley Gardens, where similar enduring connections between people formed one moment at a time across generations, changing lives.
Year after year, Vincentian has expanded and fortified these opportunities to intentionally connect children, college students, older adults, and families, despite ongoing economic pressure. Bringing people together is the right thing to do, and it is what we are committed to at Vincentian.
I ask you to join me with a gift today. Your support will help ensure that Vincentian continues to serve as a bridge in our community, connecting those who need care with those who provide it, and strengthening the relationships that sustain both.
Yours in Service,
Dean Owrey

P.S. This April 24 through April 30 marks Global Intergenerational Week, a time to recognize and promote connection across generations. What better time to support Vincentian's important work? Thank you for your generosity. The Sisters remember all who support Vincentian in daily prayer.
