FAQ

Vincentian Schenley Gardens is a senior community that offers Personal Care and Memory Care to older adults who value their independence but require some help with activities of daily living. Residents receive meals, assistance as needed, and are offered a variety of social events to help promote an active and rewarding lifestyle.

This unique intergenerational living opportunity, found nowhere else in the Pittsburgh area, is being offered to Health Sciences Graduate Students. In exchange for a low monthly rent, students agree to spend at least four hours per week with residents, doing everything from educational classes, social outings, parties, tech help and much more.

Vincentian is accepting applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. Up to 30 students can be accommodated at Vincentian Schenley Gardens. Applications will be accepted until all apartments are rented; however, Vincentian recommends that interested applicants apply as soon as possible due to the limited number of rooms and anticipated high demand given the greatly reduced rent and innovative intergenerational living and experiential learning opportunities that this program provides.

Students will move in during the month of August at predetermined move-in dates to be coordinated with Vincentian and the tenants.

All basic utilities including water, electric and gas is included in your rent at no additional cost. Your rent also includes FREE cable television and WiFi!

Seniors who live at Vincentian Schenley Gardens may need a little help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, taking their medications, personal hygiene, cooking/eating, getting around and housekeeping. Personal Care residents receive the assistance that is always available, but never intrusive.
