Vincentian’s spaces are designed to be a hive of activity where children, college students, parents, older adults, and generations of caregivers interact daily in both planned and spontaneous interactions of varying degrees. Based upon research from world-renowned experts, we seek to create intergenerational spaces that inspire intentional connections between generations, promoting engagement across the generations, where people of all ages interact physically, cognitively, and emotionally.
Following the research of Penn State University professor Dr. Matt Kaplan, Vincentian evaluates its intergenerational programming and spaces using the Five Rs: Roles, Relationships, Reciprocity, Recognition and Responsiveness.
